Counting Crows

The ‘Crow”….I love crows, love their antics, energy and intelligence…their lovely shiny coats and the fact that they always know what is going on. When I hear them making a racket and take the time to look, I may see our resident bald eagles on a tree, once in the woods a little bit off the trail I had the immense pleasure of seeing a great horned owl…these sightings would have been missed had the crows not alerted me.
Mostly I find either folks LOVE them or despise them..seems to be no middle ground on the issue..I have a wonderful friend who supports my work that asked me to carve a crow for her..she delights in watching them in her garden. So I did these black feathered fellows for her to take a look at..
Like me, crows are keen on finding little treasures, I watch them from my workbench poking around looking for something to hide. And there is always a ‘talker’ they are rarely quiet..like me as well..Haha

And a watchman..keeping an eye out for the ‘scoop’..again a mostly human trait I also have !!

I put twig legs on them, I didn’t want to anchor the crows, they are always hopping and jumping around, is their nature..so the little twigs keep them light.

Am going to be making more ‘crows’ …bit of a waiting list on these, crow lovers have been watching their progress, coming here as I have been working on them…

As it is less than a week from Halloween, you will know I LOVE the Pumpkin Challenge, tho mine are made from wood not squash..Surprised????..I think not….

Eddie with the pockets, Gourdo and Peter the tall one.

I do not think these fellow would frighten anyone !!!

They do make you smile tho!!

Have a great time getting ready for Halloween !!

Smiles,

  1. Hi Brenda –

I just found your blog via “The Art of Doing Stuff”. Your work’s gorgeous! I’m hoping to do a little Christmas shopping at your online site and plan to check out your studio the next time I’m on the Island.
